The Struggle

One of the hardest things as a youth pastor is to see young people struggle. The hurt, the pain, the bullying, loss, fear, insecurities, no hope, bad home life, bad grades, not being cool enough, not being smart enough, and so on.

It's difficult seeing a generation seeing themselves the way Satan sees themselves, rather than how God sees them (made them). I can't blame them, I think its the easier thing to do. Because choosing to live above all this requires effort, it requires the flap of the wings to soar above the storm. Adding struggle to the struggle is a difficult choice. My dream is to see the young people of Wickenburg realize that Jesus is the answer! Be you, live life loud, wild, and free! Know that God has got your back and the struggle is not yours, we just have to give it to Him. I love what this scripture says below, "Live carefree before God; He is most careful with you." This doesn't mean go do dumb things, but it gives us the freedom to LIVE LIFE, not dread life... Abide Youth, spread them wings, see yourself as God made you, and soar!

1 Peter 5:6-10 - So be content with who you area, and don't put on airs. God's strong hand is on you; he'll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; He is most careful with you. Keep a cool head, stay alert. The devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You're not the only one plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ-eternal and glorious plans they are!-will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word, yes He does.
